At APS, our developers love Reporting (a bit geeky, I know). Some of us have been doing it for our whole professional career, and we know a thing or two about what makes a good reporting system. We've distilled that knowledge into an application that produces the Reports we need, that works the way we know it should.
It's only problem? Not enough users.
Solution? Give it away for Free!

At APS we have great developers, and a passion for what we do, but we don't have great salesmen. Actually, we don't have any salesmen at all. Nor do we actually want any (apologies to any salesmen reading this).
We want to continue to develop the best reporting tool available. We have a long list of features to be added in the next couple of years, including support for more SmartPlant applications, support for non-SmartPlant databases, improved Query tools, Web servers, new Report formatting tools, and stacks of enhancements to existing functions.
What we need are more users. Users to provide feedback, to share ideas, to find new and innovative uses for the software. Some of our best new features have been suggested by our users, such as our VB/C# scripting engine, and users have helped to fine-tune our processes to get things working perfectly, such as our SPF Load File generation.
APSR also makes it very easy to export & import reports, allowing users to share reports or to collaborate on reports. Indeed, at APS we often develop custom reports for clients which are then emailed and loaded into their own systems on-site. A user community exchanging reports will benefit everybody.

So how do we get more people using the software? We give it away for Free!
Free Software
Everyone loves a freebie, and the new version 5.0 of APS Reporter/SP provides a totally free license for a single user. This provides access to most of the functions of APS Reporter/SP for no cost, and it does not expire.
Simply download the installation package, install the app, and start playing (working).
After installing the software and building the database for APS Reporter/SP, you'll need to connect to your SmartPlant database, and then build the Virtualisation Layer for your system (this makes the cool stuff work in the Queries). Wizards will guide you through that process, and then you're ready to go.
The Free License provides access to all of the major functions of APS Reporter/SP. There are some minor restrictions such as multi-user functions like the Documents module, editing of Metadata, some watermarks are added to reports, the grid restricts the number of records, etc.

Full Licenses
If you'd like to upgrade your license to remove the restrictions of the Free License, or to work in a multi-user environment, our new pricing model will make it much easier to get the approvals you need. We have dramatically reduced the cost of new licenses, so much so that the time savings on your first production report should just about cover the cost of your investment.Remote Support
We've also included the brilliant TeamViewer remote support package with APS Reporter/SP, which allows users to get live desktop support directly from our support specialists. If you need help to install the application, or would like some assistance with querying a database or building a report, our specialists can connect in minutes and provide support directly on your system. If you'd like to know more about APS Reporter/SP checkout some of the links in the side-bar to the right, or download the latest version from our web site.
